These paintings are my attempt to portray and discuss both the positive and negative aspects of human nature in a palpable and appetizing manner. The series of paintings titled “Food Fight” is an expansion of my previous work “Delicatessen Delicacy” where I created food/animal based puns expressing the comical nature of language and complex relationships individuals have with food. However, in the “Food Fight” series I’m making connections to our individual fight for nourishment physically, mentally, and spiritually, As well as the constant fight for resources be it physically or politically between nations. The food hybrids inhabit abstract landscapes that resemble nature and food like structures to signify fragile emotional or physical states.
